Dr. Maria Petroche, DMD, MSD
Periodontist & implant surgeon
Dr. Petroche grew up in Florida and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. She then completed a three-year periodontology residency at Boston University's Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, earning a Master of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies while working in private practice. At Boston University she was awarded the merit-based Zanni Scholarship and served as class president.
She focuses on minimally invasive surgery and has extensive training in digital implant workflow — planning the placement on a 3D scan before anything is touched. She is also certified in IV conscious sedation, which she completed during residency, so patients who have been putting treatment off for years can have it done comfortably.
Dr. Petroche is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction that requires achievement well beyond the education needed to practice as a periodontist. She helps lead a local Spear study club, where she works through current research and clinical technique with other dentists in the area.
Dr. Petroche is at Synergy for consultations and surgery one to two days a week, so periodontal and implant surgery is booked onto one of those days — everything before and after it runs on the practice's ordinary schedule.
Outside the practice she hikes with her husband and their dog, skis, travels, and is always trying a new restaurant.
