Synergy

Your everyday dentist — who also does the hard stuff

Synergy is a full-service general practice for patients 13 and up. Cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, emergencies — all the everyday dentistry you would expect from a regular dentist. The implant, surgical and cosmetic work is what we are additionally equipped for, not all we do.

Everyday dentistry

The reason most of our patients come in, most of the time.

Routine cleanings & exams

A cleaning, a full exam with the dentist, digital X-rays as needed and an oral cancer screening. We tell you what is healthy, what needs watching, and what needs doing now — and we say so plainly when the answer is nothing yet.

Composite fillings

Tooth-coloured restorations that bond to the tooth rather than wedging it apart. Shade-matched so the repair is not the first thing anyone notices.

Porcelain crowns

When a tooth is too damaged for a filling, a crown covers it entirely to restore strength, shape and function. Designed in the clinic so the fit and the colour are ours to get right.

Root canal therapy

Dr. Lima performs these under a dental microscope, which is the difference between working by feel and working by sight. Modern root canal treatment is typically no more uncomfortable than having a filling placed.

Periodontal maintenance

Ongoing care to keep gum disease from returning after treatment. With a board-certified periodontist working out of this office, gum problems get a specialist's eye without being referred elsewhere.

Teen & adult care (13+)

We see patients from about age 13. Younger children are better served by a pediatric practice built around them, and we are glad to point you to one — then we are here when they are ready.

Night guards

Custom-fitted guards for grinding and clenching — which is what is usually behind worn edges, cracked teeth and waking up with a sore jaw.

Sleep apnea appliances

An oral appliance can be an alternative to CPAP for some patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. We will tell you honestly whether you are one of them.

Emergency dentistry

Severe tooth pain, a broken or chipped tooth, a lost crown, swelling or infection. We hold time each day and will see you the same day whenever we can.

Implants, cosmetic & surgical

The work most general practices refer out. Here it stays in the practice — placed by a board-certified periodontist and restored by a Dawson-trained restorative dentist.

Dental implants

A titanium post placed into the jawbone with a custom crown on top — the closest thing to getting the tooth back. Unlike a bridge, an implant does not lean on the teeth either side, and because it integrates with the bone it helps preserve the jaw structure that collapses after tooth loss. From a single tooth to a full arch, planned on a 3D scan and quoted in writing before anything begins.

Oral surgery

Extractions, grafting and surgical preparation for implants, handled here rather than sent across town to a stranger. Surgical appointments are scheduled on Dr. Petroche's consultation and surgery days.

Clear aligners

We treat with Candid, with the treatment plan designed and reviewed by an orthodontist. A nearly invisible, removable way to straighten teeth — correcting crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites and crossbites. A digital scan lets you see the expected result before you commit to anything. Straighter teeth are also easier to clean, which matters more than it sounds.

Cosmetic veneers

Thin porcelain shells on the front of the teeth to change shape, colour and proportion. Designed with the bite in mind, not just the photograph — which is where cosmetic work usually goes wrong.

Teeth whitening

Professional whitening that lifts staining a shade guide can actually measure. Results typically hold six to twelve months depending on diet, smoking and hygiene.

Facial aesthetics

Botox and dermal fillers used to complement the smile rather than compete with it. Dentists spend their careers studying the muscles of the face; this is the same anatomy.

Advanced 3D imaging

Cone-beam imaging that shows the bone, the nerve and the sinus before an implant is placed. It is also why our quotes tend to hold — there are fewer surprises when you have looked first.

Looking for a specific treatment?

In depth on the three we are asked about most: dental implants, clear aligners and gum disease treatment.

Not sure what you need?

Most people are not. Book a consultation and you will leave with a written plan, the price with your insurance already applied, and a clear sense of what is urgent versus what can wait.
